RJ and riots IARS lecture in Chile as demonstrations break out

In addition to the Restorative Justice seminars that Professor Theo Gavrielides, IARS Founder and Director, and Ben Lyon, IARS Restorative Justice Advisor, are currently giving in Chile, Dr. Gavrielides will give a special lecture on the use of RJ with social disturbances. The seminars are organised by the Centre of Mediation and Arbitration, Law School, Central University of Chile.

Restorative justice happens almost all of the time, but we may not always realise it. In Dr Gavrielides' words, it is "an ethos with practical goals, among which is to restore harm by including affected parties in a (direct or indirect) encounter and a process of understanding through voluntary and honest dialogue". Whenever we mediate and heal conflicts, we are practising restorative justice.
