Restorative Justice Post-Sentencing


A new directive (2011) of the European Parliament and the Council proposes the “establishment of minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime”. This project aims to address those issues by minimising the chances of secondary victimization while promoting that all victims of crime have a right to access Restorative Justice (RJ).

The McDonaldisation of a community-born and community-led ethos


In 2012, I was fortunate enough to spend restorative justice week in Canada. As I look back at those intense seven days in November, I feel compelled to share some of the feelings and thoughts that have changed me in the most unexpected way. 

IARS Director appoined as Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University


RJ4All is pleased to announce that IARS Founder & Director, Dr. Theo Gavrielides, has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University (SFU), School of Criminology. IARS has worked closely with SFU and in particular the Centre for Restorative Justice directed by Professor Brenda Morrison.

New pan-European restorative justice project launched at the Ministry of Justice


On 13 December the new pan-European project for safeguarding victims was launched by Jeremy Wright MP, Justice Minister and Dr Theo Gavrielides, founder and director of IARS.
