our children’s digital art focusing on the
Windrush generation, its legacy and
contribution to the SE16 area.
Event Objectives:
At RJ4All, we strive for a more cohesive society by distributing power through educational activities, awareness raising and user-led projects. This unique exhibition, led by our children, will give an opportunity to people from diverse backgrounds to come together to discuss race equality in London and the SE16 area, using children's art and key note speeches from experts in restorative justice, art and education. On the25th October, during half-term week we held this event to:
Celebrate Black History Month 2019 by focusing on the Windrush generation, its legacy and contribution to the SE16 area, its history, achievements, struggles and continuous efforts to build a stronger community.
Create a space for dialogue between different cultures and ages by bringing local people together and by providing them with prompts through local children’s digital art depicting our event theme.
Create an opportunity for local children to learn about Black History Monday, Windrush and 70 years since the Empire Windrush docked in Tilbury.
