The Restorative Justice for All (RJ4ALL) International Institute with the support of Southwark Council, Art-Invest UK and Decathlon’s joint Health and Wellbeing Fund and London Sport is starting regular one week youth clubs at the Rotherhithe Community Centre in SE16.
As part of their effort to address poverty and power imbalances, RJ4ALL is offering free places to local families taking part in a wealth of activities including sport and art classes, creative workshops and games.
The first youth club is due to take place from 11th-15th April 2022. Children and young people between the ages of 10-19 years old are invited to RJ4ALL’s community centre to enjoy a range of fitness and creative activities, including an Easter egg hunt. Free lunch, presents and refreshments will be provided during the day.
Dr Theo Gavrielides, who runs the charity, said "After the success of our Half Term Youth Club, we are proud to be providing parents with an affordable and fun option for their children during the Easter break. We hope that the Easter Break Youth Club attracts plenty of participants for the week. The initiative is part of our vision to develop the first restorative London postcode."
Luka Vukotic, Development Director for Art-Invest Real Estate, said: “We are delighted to be supporting RJ4ALL through our newly established Community Fund with Decathlon UK, our neighbours at Canada Water Dockside. The fund seeks to promote active lifestyles and wellbeing throughout Canada Water, and we are therefore extremely proud to help support the work of RJ4ALL in addressing poverty and power imbalances through sport.”
Dominic Stannard of Decathlon Surrey Quays, added: "Decathlon's mission has always been to make the fun and benefits of sport more accessible to the many. We were delighted to team up with Art-Invest UK to support RJ4ALL's incredibly important initiative to tackle sport and wellbeing inequality and ensure that all young people have equal opportunities when it comes to sport and the arts. We look forward to seeing the impact that this will have in our local community."
