The Role
The post is offered as part of our Associate Scheme, and has flexible working hours. This is a key role within the organisation working directly with the Director, Prof. Theo Gavrielides, to deliver RJ4All’s international, national and local projects on preventing violent radicalisation including group youth violence and gang crime. Furthermore, the post holder will be required to undertake fundraising and administrative tasks as well as manage interns, promote projects, participate and create workshops.

Building Youth Resilience:
The Building Youth Resilience RJ4All video-series aims to give children, young people and their families the skills and knowledge to become more resilient when it comes to violence and marginalisation.
Violent Radicalisation, Restorative Justice and Human Rights: This is a multi-year research and educational programme, aiming to explore the role, potential and limitations of restorative justice and community-led initiatives for preventing individuals at risk of violent radicalisation; Increase awareness around alternative, positive approaches to violent radicalisation and extremism; Deepen and strengthen the relationship between human rights and violent radicalisation by creating bridges and negotiating solutions; Network and connect researchers, policy makers, practitioners, educationalists and users in the area of violent radicalisation, human rights and restorative justice.

RADEX
the aim of this project is to make an impact on countering, preventing and diverting violent radicalisation, by providing young people, youth workers, social workers, youth organisations with the tools needed to identify patterns, methods, and different processes of youth radicalisation and a digital tool to prevent and/or divert it, when it happens.
RDaVR
has been put together to provide an alternative approach to preventing violent radicalisation and extremism based on dialogue and restorative justice..
Who we are looking for
RJ4All is committed to supporting the community and safeguarding them from harm. The organisation is seeking an exceptional candidate to support its work responding to the risks from radicalisation and violent-extremism in the community.
We are looking for an ambitious individual with experience in action research methods and with an interest in making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people locally, nationally and internationally. Previous experience and knowledge in the areas of group youth violence and violent radicalisation are essential criteria. Interest and knowledge in restorative justice are also desirable.
The post holder will have to undertake research while connecting with schools, colleges, universities, different organisations and other settings in the country – helping to raise awareness of the issues, and build resilience amongst young people and those vulnerable to radicalisation. Exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to develop and deliver high-quality training and resources, both in-person and online, will be essential. A good knowledge of Prevent policy and practice, and how it relates to education settings, is desirable, however, the right candidate must have willingness to develop knowledge and expertise within the role. A key function within this role is the project management of our related programmes including those funded by Erasmus+ under its KA2. This means coordinating our European partners, supporting them to deliver their respective work and travel when necessary.
The successful applicant will also need to be willing to undertake a DBS check and enhanced security checks before commencing the role, in addition to relevant employment checks.
Key Tasks:
Project delivery and management
● To lead on delivering and managing projects of local, national and international scope including carrying out qualitative/ quantitative research (secondary and primary), analysing and reporting on findings, carrying out evaluations, producing publications and delivering training.
● Work with RJ4All’ User Groups to increase awareness on the topic.
● To adhere to the annual work plan and its delivery/ reporting deadlines.
● To adhere to the annual budget and be responsible for the singing off of the allocated
● projects’ expenditure.
● To proactively and reactively respond to changes in policy and law in areas relevant to Prevent policy and to keep up to date with relevant legislative and policy changes.
● To collect, collate, organise and analyse relevant project monitoring and evaluation data and feed them into (1) funders’ reports for approval by the Director (2) the Director’s quarterly Board report (3) team meetings.
● To develop a Theory of Change for each allocated project and monitor and report on its delivery on a quarterly basis.
● Together with the Director, to develop new project ideas.
● Where RJ4All is a partner or a coordinator for a project, to lead on communications with the other partners, manage relationships and respond to any feedback.
● To attend and speak at internal and external conferences, seminars, project meetings and other events, locally, nationally and internationally.
Volunteer/ interns management
a. To recruit volunteers/ interns from a range of backgrounds.
b. To be the line manager of a minimum of one part-time intern and to line manage them including supporting them in their training and skills development needs.
c. To carry out induction and exit interviews with volunteers and interns, record statistics, progress and any relevant paperwork as this is required by RJ4All and its funders.
d. To develop partnerships with volunteer referral sources.
Other
● To undertake all tasks respecting RJ4All’s Equality and Diversity Policy as well as its founding values;
● To comply with the RJ4all’s Handbook and European Commission’s grant agreements;
● To attend and participate in internal RJ4All meetings including staff meetings;
● To work cooperatively with other RJ4All staff and Board members;
● To attend relevant training in order to fulfil the requirements of the job;
● To co-operate in the formulation of and development of systems for monitoring and evaluating the work of RJ4All;
● To treat with confidentiality any information about RJ4All members, users, staff and research that could be deemed as personal, private or sensitive;
● To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Director.

● The daily rate for the consultant’s engagement is £100 inclusive

This open letter aims to provide you with some feedback on our meeting, which I found extremely discouraging and to some extent disrespectful of the hard work that RJ4All and our local community is putting in addressing the root causes that lead to community tensions and poverty in the borough. I have learned when I see conflict to expose it and try to address it by looking at the harm caused, and not the individuals involved. Rest assured that the intention of this letter is neither accusatory nor defensive, and we have our 10-year legacy to evidence our collaborative approach and constructive relationships with local, regional and national governments. We acknowledge the LA’s hard work and investment to address persistent inequalities and make the borough a safe place for all. London, Jan 20, 2024: Today, an amendment to the Victims and Prisoners Bill was tabled to introduce a “victims’ right to restorative justice". Working closely with the office of Baroness Bennett of Manor Castle, RJ4All submitted evidence for legislative changes. This is the first of many others that are expected to be published on Monday.
