STOP PRESS: RJ4ALL TO RECEIVE £1,000 FOOD BANK GRANT FROM MARKS & SPENCER AND NEIGHBOURLY
The Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) International Institute has been awarded a £1,000 grant from Marks & Spencer and Neighbourly as a part of their Gifts that Give campaign this Christmas. The fund will support the organisation's efforts to tackle food poverty, as households face the strain of the cost-of-living crisis and food banks across the country are facing unprecedented demand.
Dr. Theo Gavrielides, RJ4All Founder and Director, commented: “We are thankful to receive such generous support from Marks & Spencer and Neighbourly. As food costs continue to soar at record rates, this support will help us to create community cohesion by addressing the communities’ basic needs through a holistic approach grounded in restorative justice.”
Based at the Rotherhithe Community Centre in SE16, the non-profit institute offers a variety of services including but not limited to: a weekly Food Bank, Community Fridge, Community Gym, Sports Classes and Educational Workshops along with a Community Library. The food bank runs every Tuesday at the Centre from 11:00 am to 14:00 pm, offering fresh food, non perishable goods and other household essentials.
One of RJ4ALL’s regular service users said, “As a mum of two girls, being able to get a few basic items per week is amazing and helps my money go further.”
RJ4All is a charitable institute that depends on such generous support from partner organisations and food waste heroes. The organisation reinvests all donations into its community projects, as a part of its mission to address poverty and advance human rights using the bottom-up values of restorative justice.
